Location

Your Private Escape

Villa Somoya is located far enough away from everything to guarantee privacy, but close enough for easy access to breathtaking beaches, Spanish Town, the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor, the historic Coppermine ruins, and many local restaurants.

From Villa Somoya’s front door, private paths wind their way down to a beautiful coral strewn beach or to a private sunning deck. Follow the trail markers around giant boulders, through huge caves and in between natural rugged trees and bushes to a private sun deck or, for the more adventurous, down to the ocean where you can enjoy a sea level view of the reef and breakers beyond. Each trail is marked with a unique symbol marking system to help guide the way.

The world famous “Baths”, at the southern tip of the island between Spring Bay and Devil’s Bay are within a short five minute drive.  In fact, almost every place of interest is located within 25 minutes of the villa.

There are a number of ways to get to Virgin Gorda.  Direct flights arrive daily from San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, USVI.  For the true island experience, you can also travel by ferry from all of the nearby British or U.S. Virgin Islands.

Villa Somoya was designed by renowned Caribbean architect James O’Halloran.  The villa was expertly constructed by Thomas Yacuk, Leon George and David Brockelbank.  Interior Designs are by Karen Hitscherich Interiors.  Our inspiration came from Steve Green and the iconic Toad Hall resort and many helpful hints were offered by Leslie Saulter-Yacuk.
